Joola has developed two rubbers, which unite characteristic properties of Chinese rubbers with the ones stemming from Tensor rubbers. These two rubbers belong to the Joola Golden Tango series, and they are characterized by a sticky surface (well-known from Chinese rubbers) and a relatively hard tensor sponge. The two Golden Tango rubbers exhibit clear differences between them: For example, the Joola Golden Tango PS is clearly softer and more elastic than the "regular" Joola Golden Tango.

Very hard and an enormous spin potential: Joola Golden Tango

As already mentioned, the topsheet of the Joola Golden Tango has a sticky surface which reminds one of Chinese rubbers. The sponge has no/only very small pores and is extremely hard (54°)! Even though the Golden Tango is equipped with an integrated speed-gluing effect, it is not very pronounced. Hence, there is only a limited effect on the gaming properties of this Joola rubber. All in all, there is a very direct and hard behavior, and a very flat trajectory of the ball.

The direct behavior has the advantage of a good feedback of the ball and sufficient control. The Golden Tango from Joola is best suitable when doing powerful topspins and hard shots close to the table. To be able to fully exploit the potential of this table tennis rubber a good gaming level (clear and precise techniques) is very helpful since this rubber has only little "self-dynamics".

Huge advantages of the sticky surface are rotational serves and returns. At the same time, the Golden Tango is prone to spin coming from your opponent. Hence, you really need a good feeling for the ball and a high training workload in order to optimally control this rubber. Taking together all these properties, the Joola Golden Tango is appropriate for different gaming systems, however, you must be aware of the incredible hardness!

More self-dynamics for an optimized game: Joola Golden Tango PS

The sticky topsheet of the Joola Golden Tango PS is identical to the topsheet of the Golden Tango. However, the sponge is different: It is a medium-pored Tensor with a hardness of 50°. You can see that the sponge is softer (but of course still very hard) and more elastic. This makes it a bit slower, but more dynamical and sensitive. The Golden Tango PS not only mediates a more pleasant feeling for the ball, but also an increased amount of self-dynamics. The overall speed is a bit lower compared to the Golden Tango, but still at a high level! Hence, the Golden Tango PS behaves in a precise and controlled way, no matter if close to the table or from the mid distance.

The integrated catapult effect is increased and can be perceived very clearly! Hence, only little physical effort is necessary in order to effectively accelerate the ball. Thanks to the incredible spin potential, you can generate much rotation when doing attacking strokes, backspin balls, serves, or returns. Due to the power of this table tennis rubber, also powerful finishers are absolutely no problem.

Since the Joola Golden Tango PS behaves a bit softer and more sensitive than its technical data would make you suggest, it is very suitable for a variable offensive game. The change between soft & rotational openers and harder topspins & shots works pretty well!

For those of you who like Chinese rubbers, the Joola Golden Tango rubbers are worth a recommendation! Particularly the Joola Golden Tango PS, characterized by its interesting properties, is a special rubber successfully uniting Chinese with Tensor features. In contrast, the Joola Golden Tango is more similar to Chinese rubbers. This is related to its gaming behavior. Either way, in case you really prefer table tennis rubbers with a sticky surface, the Golden Tango series is worth a try!
